We were so lucky to have moved into a house where a botanist once lived. Every spring, we end up having hundreds of completely new flowers that weren't there the year before.

This year, I also tried my hand at growing about 200 vegis, perennials and decorative grasses from seeds. Im a HUGE do-it-yourselfer so, I made seedling pots out of old magazines, news papers and junk mail to keep cost down and also be good to the environment.

I love spring by our house because all of the animals that live on our land have their babies!

One of the downfalls of spring however, is the pigeons that live in the top of our barn go NUTTY. Every day for a week it seemed like someone was getting caught in our gutters. I OF COURSE couldnt just leave them there to die, so I attempted to scale our 5 story tall barn on a ladder.. which was HORRIFYING!

I got all the way up there and the pigeon flew away on his own.. What a wiener!

Happy May Everyone,
I have recently decided that its important that my readers learn a little bit more about me then what I write about in my makeup journals. I am an animal lover and I live on a small historical farm (established in 1888) w. my mom, where we have tons of pets that we have rescued and wild animals that we feed.

I recently became a lot more interested in finding inspiration for the all new Darla Makeup line from this home that I share with my mom and all of our fuzzy friends.

Over the next few months, as we get the new Darla Makeup line ready to launch, I am going to introduce you to my lifestyle and what is most important to me in life.
As part of this new blog about my life, I am also going to show you pictures and tell you stories from my past in high school, middle school, etc.

It's been a busy few weeks. Our first packaging samples are coming next week and I am so excited to see everything in its finished form!
We are officially out of almost all of our Paints, except for Aqua. All the colors are retired, so get that Aqua Paint while you still can!

This week we had our first photo shoot for the NEW LINE OF DARLA MAKEUP! It went amazingly well, so we are doing another one next week!

I have been looking forward to the Grammys for quite a few months. I love seeing how the best of the best in the music will shape the fashion industry for the next 12 months. I have to say that I think that Lady Gaga, has done the best job at influencing the industry more then anyone! Shes amazing, and inspiring!

Hey Everyone!
Sorry for the lack of updates, it has been a CRAZY month.
We finally are getting close to finishing up our packaging design and we found a great graphic artist who is helping us design the new site and brand art.
I AM SO EXCITED!
We got a bunch of makeup artists together this week and finished picking out product, and its amazing!
